Avenged Sevenfold Soldier On After Jimmy 'The Rev' Sullivan's Death With Help From Fans

It's been nearly 18 months since Avenged Sevenfold drummer Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan passed away, and since then, the California hard rock band and this month's MTV Posted artists admitted to almost packing it in several times. But as guitarist Zacky Vengeance explains in this exclusive blog post, the support of the fans to continue was too great to dismiss. Read Zacky's post and get more brand-new Avenged Sevenfold updates, videos, photos and more at MTV Posted.

Two years ago at Rock on the Range was Jimmy's last show with us in the states. Six months after that, Jimmy passed, and it seemed the end was certain for us and A7X. Our fans carried us and got us back on our feet, so, headlining Rock on the Range in front of 35,000 fans who have been through hell and back with us was an amazing tribute to Jimmy and to the whole A7X family. We will never take any of it for granted. I'm writing this as I get ready to leave for Europe in a few hours to solidify what we started 12 years ago. We have worked so hard to win over the people in Europe, which is not easy because they demand a lot from their bands and in return reward them with a lifetime of loyalty. Even now, as we prepare to headline festivals and support some of the biggest rock bands in the world, we still have so far to go. After Europe, we are coming for you Australia. It has been far too long.
See you in the Pit,
Zacky V
